Corten Steel

Corten steel, also known as corten steel or weathering steel, is a low alloy steel that contains a small amount of alloying elements such as copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), etc. The addition of these elements makes Corten steel have good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere. Corten weathering steel is a type of low-alloy high-strength structural steel with good atmospheric corrosion resistance.
Chemical composition: Corten weathering steel usually contains carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) and other elements, and the specific content varies depending on the model and standard. Generally speaking, the content of elements such as copper, chromium, and nickel is relatively high, which helps to improve its weather resistance.
Performance characteristics: Excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance: In the natural environment, a stable and dense rust layer will gradually form on its surface, which can prevent further corrosion and thus extend the service life of the steel.
